Anderson Valley sits about 155 miles or three hours driving time North of San Francisco but feels decades away in time. ☛ Pennyroyal Farmstead

Committed to producing handcrafted cheeses exclusively from goats and sheep that are raised at the family farm. The pampered animals munch on wild grasses and pennyroyal mint that blanket our sixty-six-acre farmstead and vineyard in Boonville. Their milk is transferred twice daily to the adjacent creamery in small containers ensuring that their cheese is made from the freshest milk possible. Call ahead to schedule a tour at 707-895-2410. ☛ Anderson Valley Brewing Company

Doing the same since 1987, they still brew their world-class and award-winning Ales in huge copper vessels. Tours of the brewery are daily at 1:30 and 3 PM. After your tour, try your hand on the disc golf course. It’s become wildly popular, and it’s so easy to play that just about anyone of any age can enjoy it. This is a great place to sit and enjoy a picnic.



☛Hendy Woods

For an awe-inspiring experience, come gaze at the towering 1,500-year-old Redwood trees along the park’s Upper Loop trail. Hendy Woods is noted for two breathtaking groves: Big Hendy, which is 80 acres and includes a self-guided discovery trail, and Little Hendy, which covers 20 acres of hiking trails. They make a maximum of 60 pizzas each day and they frequently sell out early. Their pizza and bread are naturally leavened, mixed and shaped by hand, and are made with organic grain our ingredients are mostly local and sourced from the best places possible. Open Friday/Sat./Sun./Mon. 12-4. Located inside The Madrones at 9000 Hwy 128, Philo (707) 895-3471. Dinner options; Buckhorn Saloon offers pub fare with 14 beers on tap. Lauren’s is where the locals go and they offer comfort foods with the local wine selection. Both restaurants are in Boonville.



Stony Bottom Cottages

Quiet and private cottages amongst 5 1/2 acres of lush gardens and art sculptures. It offers a full kitchen, dining area, fireplace, CA king size bed and a deck for sunset viewing.
